About the Justin Charity Bear Fund
Justin was just 5 1/2 years old when he realized that not all children were lucky to have a bear like his. So he told his father that he wanted to make bears and give them to needy children.
"I wish to share the importance of giving and sharing," says Justin.
Justin and his father didn't start small. They created The Justin Charity Bear Fund, a registered nonprofit (nonprofit tax ID #80-017-5625).
In 2008, with help from volunteers, they were able to raise enough money to make 850 bears at the Bridgewater Build-A-Bear store. Those bears were given to children in financial need in Newark, NJ as well as to children in hospitals in Watchung and Plainfield, both in New Jersey.
Justin set the goal higher in 2009 with 1,000 bears and exceeded that amount, distributing 1,154 bears to needy children in even more locations, including some in Philadelphia.
But we need your help to meet our goal in 2010 of 1,000 bears.
